About the event
For SY19-20, portions of the JROTC Essay Contest will be incorporated into the JROTC Leadership and Academic Bowl (JLAB) 2020. Out of the possible thousands of essays submitted by Cadets, JROTC Directorate will select the top three essays as the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place national winners. The national winners will win an all-expense paid roundtrip to JLAB 2020 at The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C on 20-22 June 2020.
All Cadets enrolled in JROTC are encouraged to participate in the essay contest. Cadet's essay will be their own work.
The length of the essays will be 2-3 pages, excluding cover page. Pages within the essay, including cover page, must adhere to the following:
(1) Essay Theme: "Live Your Life with Integrity, Lose with Dignity, Win with Humility"

(a) (U) Font Type: Times New Roman (b) (U) Font size: 12. (c) (U) Spacing: Double. (d) (U) Margins: 1 inch on all sides.
(3) (U) Cover page will identify Cadet's:
(a) (U) First and last name. (b) (U) Home address (street, city, state, and zip code) (c) (U) LET number (d) (U) High school name (e) (U) High school address (street, city, state, and zip code) (f) (U) SAI or AI name, phone number, and email address.
